Fare la spesa, cioè comprare cibo da mangiare.

Fare spese è fare shopping: vestiti, oggetti, regali ecc, tranne il cibo

I MOLTI USI DEL VERBO FARE

Ecco un breve lista di casi in cui si usa il verbo fare, (con significati differenti), utilissima nella vita quotidiana, in particolare al turista in viaggio:

Quante volte avete sentito una frase come questa? Il ci in questa frase è usato come pronome per indicare un luogo noto. Questo pronome è così semplice ma così complesso per gli studenti di italiano anche di livello avanzato.
Gli studenti si chiedono preoccupati: ma ci è anche pronome personale, è pure usato nella costruzione dei verbi riflessivi. Quando riconoscerlo e usarlo nel suo significato corretto?
La soluzione è semplice. Dimenticate gli usi del ci pronome e pensate al luogo cui vi riferite: per non ripetere il nome del luogo, usate ci.
Dunque, attenzione al contesto della frase!

Sindaco or sindaca? The need to find a word in Italian for “female mayor” urgently arose after the election of the new mayor of Rome, Virginia Raggi, member of Beppe Grillo’s Five-Star Movement.

Italian grammar normally requires the feminine gender for everything referred to a feminine subject. However, there have been – and there still are – strong resistances in applying this rule to institutional or professional roles taken by women.

Among the words that most stubbornly resist to feminine declension we find: architect, notary, judge, council member, chancellor, councillor, minister, mayor. “We shouldn’t be too surprised about the uncertainties in the use of sindaco or sindaca: the new social and political role of women implies radical changes in the language that require some time to be absorbed. “However, it is important not to be tied too much to the past because the risk for our language is to convey an archaic view of the world, filled with prejudice towards women and source of grammatical and semantic ambiguities” points out Nicoletta Maraschio, president of the Accademia della Crusca. Why should the gender of a noun be kept obscured because of a supposed “neutral” meaning of the masculine declension?

So, Rome is lead by a “sindaca”, and not by a female “sindaco”. Guaranteed by the Accademia della Crusca!

The problem with many students of Italian as second language is that they don't often have the opportunity to listen to Italian language easy and clear. Movies are very hard to follow, as well as the shows on Tv.
