Courses

The best way to learn basic Italian quickly is to take an intensive or semi-intensive course. In my experience I see that it really works out.

Especially if the course is one to one or for a small group. In this way it is easy to tailor the lessons to the student needs.

The best way to learn basic Italian quickly is to take an intensive or semi-intensive course. In my experience I see that it really works out..Especially if the course is one to one or for a small group. In this way it is easy to tailor the lessons to the student needs.

I propose three types of weekly courses (Monday-Friday):

  • Semi-intensive: 3 hours of lesson a day for 5 days. The lessons are varied, fun and never boring. The goal is, through the study of the rules and the practice of conversation, to encourage students to be active, and to express themselves in Italian at their best.
  • Intensive: 5 hours a day: 3 hours of traditional lesson (grammar, new vocabulary, conversation) and 2 hours practising Italian in the kitchen, sometimes having fun cooking delicious and healthy dishes of Italian cuisine, and sometimes having lunch together at a restaurant. This is a unique opportunity to express oneself freely and instinctively, putting into practice what has been studied before. The intensive courses are available only in Magreglio
  • Over 50: in this case, the course is for students over 50, with 3 hours a day of lessons at a more relaxed pace and lots of student-teacher interaction.

Not Just Study

Often the Italian course ends … with a tour to discover the beautiful surroundings of Bellagio, rich in art and nature,
or to the restaurant where, between good Italian food and chat, it’s time to say goodbye …

In the picture below, lessons in the classroom but also lessons outside, discovering rural art, meeting locals and talking  to them. Here we are in Barni, looking at the portraits of local people displayed in the streets of the village and frescoes  from rural art, with a special guide: Giulia Caminada, a photographer, author of a very special book “Un paese in posa”, a portrait between the past and the future.

The course ends at the table

Often, the end-of-corse lunch is at Giovanni’s, a beautiful home restaurant in a 17th century house.
This is a unique experience of beauty and perfect conservation of an ancient rural house.
Giovanni proposes a rich variety of dishes from the italian cuisine that ranges in the big tradition of italian regional cuisine.
But what’s more, Giovanni is a fine storyteller who entertains guests by telling episodes of local history and culture.
